ETFGI reports that assets invested in the ETFs industry globally reached a new record of US$16.99 trillion at the end of June

LONDON — July 17, 2025 — ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm renowned for its expertise in subscription research, consulting services, events, and ETF TV on global ETF industry trends, reported today that assets invested in the ETFs industry globally reached a new record of US$16.99 trillion at the end of June. During June, the ETFs industry globally gathered net inflows of US$158.78 billion, bringing year-to-date net inflows to a record US$897.65 billion, according to ETFGI's June 2025 Global ETFs and ETPs industry landscape insights report, the monthly report which is part of an annual paid-for research subscription service. Global ETF Industry Milestones – June 2025
- Record-High Assets: Assets invested in the global ETF industry reached a new all-time high of $16.99 trillion at the end of June, surpassing the previous record of $16.27 trillion set in May 2025.
- Strong Year-to-Date Growth: Assets have grown 14.5% year-to-date, rising from $14.85 trillion at the end of 2024.
- Robust Monthly Inflows: The industry attracted $158.78 billion in net inflows during June alone.
- Record-Breaking YTD Inflows: Year-to-date net inflows totaled $897.65 billion, marking the highest on record. This surpasses the previous highs of $730.18 billion in 2024 and $658.86 billion in 2021.
- Consistent Momentum: June 2025 marks the 73rd consecutive month of net inflows into ETFs globally.
The S&P 500 rose 5.09% in June, bringing its H1 2025 gain to 6.20%. Developed Markets (ex-US) increased 3.24% in June, and are up a strong 20.29% year-to-date. Top Performers in June: Korea: +16.12% and Israel: +11.60%. Emerging Markets gained 4.80% in June, with a year-to-date increase of 11.41%. Top Performers in June: Taiwan: +8.53% and Turkey: +8.49%, according to Deborah Fuhr, managing partner, founder, and owner of ETFGI.
Growth in assets in the Global ETFs industry as of the end of June
The Global ETFs industry had 14,390 products, with 28,447 listings, assets of $16.99 Tn, from 876 providers on 81 exchanges in 63 countries at the end of June.
During June, ETFs gathered net inflows of $158.78 Bn. Equity ETFs gathered net inflows of $58.68 Bn, bringing YTD net inflows to $388.38 Bn, lower than the $408.03 Bn in net inflows YTD in 2024. Fixed income ETFs reported net inflows of $39.60 Bn during June, bringing net inflows for the year through June to $180.71 Bn, higher than the $140.53 Bn in net inflows YTD in 2024. Commodities ETFs reported net inflows of $10.69 Bn during June, bringing YTD net inflows to $41.85 Bn, much higher than the $5.96 Bn in net outflows YTD in 2024. Active ETFs attracted net inflows of $46.77 Bn during the month, gathering net inflows for the year of $267.02 Bn, much higher than the $153.46 Bn in net inflows YTD in 2024.
Substantial inflows can be attributed to the top 20 ETFs by net new assets, which collectively gathered $62.44 Bn during June. iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV US) gathered $13.81 Bn, the largest individual net inflow.
