Pakistan's move into the MSCI signifies a major shift in perception

Pakistan, for the last couple of years, has managed to remain in the news for all the right reasons. The most recent is the MSCI’s Annual Market Classification Review in which Pakistan came out as the big winner. The global index provider reclassified Pakistan’s status from its frontier market index to the ‘emerging market’ index, a feat which China failed to pull off.
