Asia's ETFs need to crank up the volume Fund managers will need massive scale to offset ultralow fees

Cheaper, quicker to trade and easier to understand. That is the appeal of exchange-traded funds in a nutshell as compared with mutual funds. Combined with advances in data and self-directed investing, they are forcing traditional fund groups in Asia to introduce products that in effect compete with their existing ones.
