New Ossiam ETF on Xetra: access to the US sector rotation strategy based on the Barclays Shiller Cape Ratio
Since Tuesday, a new exchange-traded fund issued by Ossiam has been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt.
The Ossiam Shiller Barclays CAPE US Sector Value UCITS ETF in the USD share class offers investors access to the US sector selection strategy. This aims to identify undervalued industries based on the Shiller price-to-earnings ratio (CAPE ratio).
The CAPE ratio is a cyclically-adjusted price-to-earnings ratio and is equal to the share price divided by the inflation-adjusted average earnings over the past ten years.
This valuation metric is used to identify undervalued companies and is extended here to equity sectors. A monthly rotation selects the five most undervalued sectors based on the relative CAPE ratio. The sector with the least momentum is additionally excluded. The remaining four sectors are weighted equally.
